GREAT HORNED OWL

This is a large, dominant owl of the Western Hemisphere.  It is found in both North and South America.  This is a highly adaptable owl that can be found in almost every habitat imaginable.  Its camouflage and stealth makes it one of the most efficient hunters in the animal kingdom.  It literally blends in with the foilage and bark of a tree to sit and wait concealed from its unknowing prey.
